Day 1: Arrival in Amritsar – Golden Temple & Wagah Border

Arrival in Amritsar – Golden Temple & Wagah Border

Your spiritual journey begins in Amritsar, the sacred city of Punjab. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and refresh yourself.

Visit the Golden Temple – The most important pilgrimage site for Sikhs, also known as Harmandir Sahib, is a symbol of peace and spirituality. Witness the Guru Granth Sahib recitation and experience the tranquil atmosphere of the holy Sarovar (lake).

Jallianwala Bagh – Pay homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre during India’s freedom struggle.

Wagah Border Ceremony – In the evening, witness the Beating Retreat Ceremony at Wagah Border, an exciting display of patriotism and military drill between India and Pakistan.

After an eventful day, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Amritsar.

Day 2: Amritsar to Katra (260 km / 5-6 hrs) – Vaishno Devi Darshan

After breakfast, proceed towards Katra, the base town for the Vaishno Devi Yatra. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and prepare for the trek (or take a helicopter) to the Vaishno Devi Shrine, one of the most significant Hindu pilgrimage destinations.

Seek blessings at the holy cave of Mata Vaishno Devi, where devotees believe their prayers are fulfilled. You may also visit Bhairon Temple, a sacred site located further uphill.

Return to Katra after darshan and stay overnight.

Day 3: Katra to Kangra Devi – Chamunda Devi (230 km / 6-7 hrs)

After breakfast, drive towards Himachal Pradesh to visit the revered Kangra Devi Temple (Bajreshwari Temple), one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, dedicated to Goddess Durga. It is believed that Goddess Sati’s breasts fell here after Lord Vishnu dismembered her body.

Next, head towards Chamunda Devi Temple, also known as Chamundi Mata Temple. This temple holds great religious significance, as it is dedicated to Goddess Chamunda, an incarnation of Durga who symbolizes destruction of evil.

After darshan, check into your hotel in Dharamshala/Kangra for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Kangra – Jwala Ji – Chintpurni (110 km / 4-5 hrs)

Post breakfast, proceed to Jwala Ji Temple, one of the most mystical Shakti Peethas known for its eternal flame that has been burning for centuries without any fuel source. Devotees believe that Goddess Sati’s tongue fell here, making it one of the most sacred shrines in Hinduism.

Later, drive towards Chintpurni Temple, where Mata Chintpurni, an incarnation of Goddess Durga, is worshipped as the one who relieves her devotees from worries (chinta). It is believed that Maa Sati’s feet fell at this holy site. Seek divine blessings and experience the peaceful aura of this temple.

After darshan, check into your hotel near Chintpurni and relax for the night.

Day 5: Chintpurni to Amritsar (160 km / 4-5 hrs) – Departure

After a blissful pilgrimage, check out from the hotel and begin your return journey to Amritsar. En route, enjoy the scenic landscapes of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

Upon reaching Amritsar, you can either proceed to the airport/railway station for your onward journey or explore local markets for souvenirs, Amritsari cuisine, and traditional Phulkari embroidery before departure.
